چکیده
Precision measurements of the positron component in the cosmic radiation provide important information about the propagation of cosmic rays and the nature of particle sources in our Galaxy. The satellite-borne experiment PAMELA has been used to make a new measurement of the cosmicray positron flux and fraction that extends previously published measurements up to 300 GeV in kinetic energy. The combined measurements of the cosmic-ray positron energy spectrum and fraction provide a unique tool to constrain interpretation models. During the recent solar minimum activity period from July 2006 to December 2009 approximately 24500 positrons were observed. The results cannot be easily reconciled with purely secondary production and additional sources of either astrophysical or exotic origin may be required. PACS numbers: 96.50.sb, 95.35.+d, 95.55.Vj

Extragalactic Inverse Compton Light from Dark Matter Annihilation and the Pamela Positron Excess
We calculate the extragalactic diffuse emission originating from the upscattering of cosmic microwave photons by energetic electrons and positrons produced in particle dark matter annihilation events at all redshifts and in all halos. We outline the observational constraints on this emission and we study its dependence on both the particle dark matter model (including the particle mass and its ...

متن کاملCosmic-ray Electron Excess from Pulsars Is Spiky or Smooth?: Continuous and Multiple Electron/positron Injections
We investigate the observed spectrum of cosmic-ray electrons and positrons from astrophysical sources, especially pulsars, and the physical processes for making the spectrum spiky or smooth via continuous and multiple cosmic-ray injections. We find that (1) the average spectrum with the local birth rate of pulsars (including the off-axis ones) is relatively smooth, consistent with the PAMELA da...
متن کاملData Analysis for the Measurement of High Energy Cosmic Ray Electron/Positron Spectrum with Fermi-LAT
The Large Area Telescope (LAT) instrument on board the Fermi satellite consists of a multilayer silicon-strip tracker interleaved with tungsten converters (TKR), followed by a CsI crystal hodoscopic calorimeter (CAL). Sixteen TKR and CAL modules are assembled in a 4×4 array. A segmented anticoincidence plastic scintillator (ACD) surrounds the TKRs. The primary cosmic-ray electron/positron energ...
متن کاملAltitude Variation of cosmic-ray neutron energy spectrum and ambient dose equivalent at Mt
The experimental studies on the cosmic-ray neutron energy spectrum and the neutron dose rate were performed in the Mt.Fuji area (altitude: 40m – 2400m) by using a Multi-sphere neutron Spectrometer (Bonner Sphere: BS) with the 5.07-cm diam. spherical He-3 proportional counter to assess the natural background neutron dose rate in Japan with good accuracy. The spectra measured at each altitude wer...
